Certified Brisbane Plastic Surgeon
Dr Andrew Broadhurst

Specialist Plastic Surgeon Dr Andrew Broadhurst has over 18 years of plastic surgery experience. With a compassionate and practical approach, he and his team provide patient-centred care and surgical treatment for breast laxity.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and significant weight loss can stretch and weaken the breast tissue and skin, leading to descending breasts. This loss of elasticity and firmness necessitates a breast lift to achieve an elevated breast appearance.

Correct
Nipple Position

Breast mastopexy (lift) can address concerns related to nipple position and areola.

Correct Breast
Asymmetry

Surgery can also correct breast size and shape imbalances.

Change
Breast Position

Breast lift can address descending breasts and volume loss caused by weight loss or ageing.

Augment
Breast Shape

It can change the shape and position of the breasts.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) with Dr Broadhurst

Breast laxity and volume loss are common changes after breastfeeding or weight loss. Mastopexy (breast lift) surgery is suitable for patients who are satisfied with their breast size but want to raise the position of their breasts or nipples.

There are many options for breast mastopexy, which you can discuss in your first and second consultation. We will advise you about the possible benefits, risks, costs, and aftercare involved, as well as the details of the surgery.

Dr Broadhurst will be able to advise on the most suitable surgical options, for example, with regard to incision placement. Possible incision placements include:

  • Crescent — involves one incision made halfway along the top outer edge of the areola.
  • Peri-Areolar — involves two circular incisions around the areola, one outside the other.
  • Anchor — involves three incisions, one around the areola, one going vertically from the lower edge of the areola to the crease under the breast (infra-mammary fold), and one horizontally along the natural curve of the breast crease.
  • Lollipop — involves two incisions, one around the areola and one vertically from the areola down towards the breast crease.

Due to his experience in cosmetic breast surgery, Dr Broadhurst can give you guidance on which incision technique will suit your specific needs.
